So today’s review looks at the Haggar Sport Coat. Now I don’t own this coat myself but a close friend of mine, Dave, recently purchased one for his son (James). I asked if I could review it for the site and he gladly agreed!
The Haggar Sport Coat is quite a dressy coat and is very affordable! Dave actually bought it for his son to wear at graduation. He kept saying James was typically a “jeans and t-shirt” type of guy and for once, he wanted to have him wear something a little bit more classy. As he searched for coats in his son’s size, he came across and settled on the Haggar Sport Coat.
The coat was meant to be a surprise but when it arrived at Dave’s house, guess who opened the door? Yes as fate would have it, James! After a brief spell of going back and forth about the prospect of actually opening the box, Dave decided to give in and let his son open the wrapping. He instantly knew the coat wasn’t his dad’s size (Dave is quite a hefty guy) and tried it on.
I must say it did fit him very well and I was extremely surprised that he actually liked it. To me, the coat looked a little different to the photos Dave showed me. It looked a bit too “artificial”, probably because it is made of 65% polyester and 35% viscose rayon. Thing is, everyone has their own opinion and James completely loved the look. He felt the coat had a very sleek finish to it, despite leaning more towards a traditional rather than modern cut.
The coat has a single vent at the rear as opposed to other suit jackets that come with double vents. Truth be told, vents were the last thing on James’ mind. He was way to busy parading up and down the house in his new coat.
On his graduation day, James decided to wear the Haggar Sport Coat with plain slacks in roughly the same color and a blue polo. Dave and his wife literally started tearing up when James went up to receive his certificate. This is the first time I’ve ever seen Dave like that, he’s usually the staunchest guy in the room – I guess we all have our soft spots! You could see how proud they were of James and truth be told, he really did look quite dashing in his coat. His outfit made him look like a very respectable man. After a few complements and a TON of hugs from the female congregation at the graduation hall, James came over and thanked Dave for the coat. Who knows, he could quite possibly be a new man and may not be a “jeans and t-shirt” guy anymore! Here is a link to where you can find the Haggar coat.
